Office Core Win of the Week: Chloë Sevigny & Tiempos
It was unexpected to see Tiempos do this, but it was a welcome surprise.
Wednesdays at the office are when I get the most work done out of the week. Is it just me? Maybe it’s because I feel back on track from the weekend, and it’s not Friday yet, so my brain is in office mode. As we enter fall, I can’t help but notice how the office-core aesthetic is on the rise even more now (or are we seeing the end of it for a moment? Please comment if you’re into editorial fashion trends). I know it’s nothing new, but I love seeing it in action more and more. Of course, this is my moment to shine as officing is our thing over here at d.o 😉.
I predict we will see even more office-core aesthetics over the coming months, not a downfall. As I did a little scrolling yesterday on IG, I saw one of my favorite Mexican brands, Tiempos, led by Esteban Tamayo, post their latest collaboration with Elle Mexico (Cover) , featuring Nathy Peluso. I don’t see Elle Mexico much on my algorithm anymore, but I am not surprised, as in recent years they have gone in a commercial direction I’m not that into. It was unexpected to see Tiempos do this, but it was a welcome surprise. I’ve been peronsally vibing a lot with the color blue lately, especially in graphic design, so it was a fast win when I saw this cover.
Although Elle Mexico has shifted over the years, I do miss a good styling by Raul Alvarez; it’s been a while (in a good way, I know he’s been involved with other amazing projects). I met Raul years back, so it was really nice to see him styling again and with a brand I love (Tiempos). The new Tiempo’s store at Copenague 27, is just divine and elegant without trying to be.
No surprise there—I’ve followed Esteban’s fashion creative genius since the Ready to Die days.
Pulling it back from the archives, I found a still from a fashion film I did way back with Ready To Die.
On the other side, we have The Cut with their latest September issue cover offering some office-core goodies with the legend, Chloë Sevigny, on the cover turning 50. Chloë turns 50, and I turned 30—oh god, how time flies. Shot by the one and only Nadia Lee Cohen, these photos will be my spirit animal for September. I’m sharing the photos Nadia posted on her IG as “deleted scenes” that didn’t make the “cut,” ironically. Which, in my opinion, were the photos they should have published, but I do understand why.

Also, just two weeks ago, on the cover of Perfect Magazine, we see Nadia completely revive in my mind why Katie Grand is a badass. I’ll let the photo shoot speak for itself on this one. (Maybe I’ll do a small video breaking down the incredible styling, direction, and aesthetics of this shoot.)

Today on Good:
Georgina Treviño adding “If lost and found, please return to:” to her tags. Loved that detail.

Real:
August was a fucking hell month, but slowly by a thousand cuts. I was trying not to admit it, but oh well, it was hard. Shifting my personal account to a full-blown project account, changing my podcast’s direction, and producing with an independent budget took its toll. So I am happy to be arriving in NYC for a few days to enjoy and let loose a little. Maybe just work a little and go visit some cool places for a future recommendation post (joking).
